Counted through the portal's own API on 10 August 2026 it held 562 datasets, of which 549 carried an open licence: 520 under the French Licence Ouverte, 25 under its Etalab v1 and v2 variants, three under ODbL and one under GPLv3.
Licence at dataset-metadata level: 216 datasets carry the Open Data Commons PDDL public-domain dedication, 14 carry none, 1 the share-alike ODbL.
Querying the portal's own API for each one, 939 resolve: 863 carry the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL), 75 carry France's Licence Ouverte / Open Licence and 1 carries Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike — no dataset resolves without a named licence, and 4 listed records return 404.
The data sits in OpenStreetMap under the ODbL, which places it above every African government catalogue so far in this atlas for reuse rights — and that same openness is why nobody can say who acts on it.

Semitan, the mixed-economy company that runs Nantes's tramways, busways and buses for Nantes Métropole, has published a real-time arrivals API as open data since November 2013 under ODbL — the same API that drives the official TAN app.
589 of 589 datasets licensed — 544 Licence Ouverte, 43 ODbL, 2 later Licence Ouverte variants — counted from the portal's own catalogue API on 10 August 2026, with no unlicensed remainder.
The City of Paris opened its open-data portal (opendata.paris.fr, "Paris Data") on 27 January 2011, one of Europe's earlier municipal open-data efforts, publishing hundreds of datasets — mobility, environment, budget, elections — under the open ODbL licence.
Counted the same day from the CKAN API of the national portal datos.gob.cl: 3,149 datasets from 231 publishing organisations, of which 1,313 are Creative Commons Non-Commercial, 922 CC BY, 421 CC0, 352 ODC-PDDL, 52 ODC-BY, 50 ODbL and 23 explicitly unspecified.
