Hyundai Mobis Level 4 Autonomous Test Drives, Songdo–Yeongjongdo

Hyundai Mobis road-tested a Level 4 self-driving prototype on a 60km route spanning Songdo and Yeongjongdo, centered on Incheon Bridge, from April 2024 through mid-2025 — an unusually long urban, non-highway course for Korean autonomous-vehicle trials. About 20 partner firms, research institutes and universities took part, under an MOU with IFEZ and Incheon Technopark.

🎓 Lesson

A separate, government-designated autonomous-vehicle test-operation district in Songdo (a 3.65km Songdo Central Park loop, distinct from this company-run R&D test) received the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's lowest grade in a 2026 evaluation, with no actual public autonomous-vehicle service operated there — a reminder that a private test drive and a live public service are not the same thing.
