City news release of 7 December 2022. The government accepted bids by Enersense AS (lots I and III) and a joint bid by Leonhard Weiss OÜ and Kagu Elekter OÜ (lot II) to replace 7,255 high-pressure sodium luminaires in three lots for a contract total of 2,561,261 euros. Deputy mayor Raimond Tamm is quoted that about a third of Tartu's street lights were LED at the time and the share would be roughly 90 per cent by the end of the following year; expected electricity savings are put at close to 400,000 euros a year.

Regional daily, 10 April 2021: the goal is citywide LED conversion; the Annelinn reconstruction begun in 2020 covered close to a thousand luminaires; further district packages (567 luminaires plus several areas) were funded with support from the Environmental Investment Centre (KIK) after the Annelinn works came in under budget.
