Metroplús Bus Rapid Transit & Fleet Telematics

Metroplús, Medellín's bus rapid transit corridor, opened December 22, 2011 with dedicated lanes and fare integration into the Cívica smart card shared with the Metro and tram. A GPS/telematics platform tracks each bus's location, speed and engine health for maintenance dispatch. Electrification began in 2018, adding 64 more electric buses in 2019.
