Caveat
The superlative is the news agency's, following the operator; no independent register of urban cable networks is cited.

IDB news release on the loan for the Brown Line extension and station solar generation. iadb.org now answers automated clients with a Cloudflare challenge (HTTP 403), so the figures attributed to it rest on an earlier reading and are corroborated where possible by the Bolivian press below.

Published 8 July 2026, quoting Mi Teleférico's executive manager Christian Eduardo Rojas. Carries the USD 62 million IDB package, of which 'la ampliación de la línea como tal demandará 42 millones de dólares', solar panels planned on most station roofs, and an airport link served by four electric buses between the 6 de Marzo station and El Alto international airport. Note the tension inside the piece: the standfirst says the USD 62 million is 'a la espera de su aprobación en la Asamblea Legislativa Plurinacional', while Rojas says the Brown Line credit itself 'tiene un crédito aprobado en la Asamblea'.

Xinhua's Spanish service, dateline La Paz 1 September 2025. The ridership figure and the superlative in one place: the system 'opera con 10 líneas de colores, conecta a las ciudades de La Paz y El Alto mediante 33 kilómetros de extensión, lo que lo convierte en la red de transporte por cable urbano más grande del mundo', has carried more than 640 million users in 11 years, and completed its network with the Silver line in March 2019. Also the fares: preferential rates of 1.50 and 1 boliviano, against operator estimates that privatisation could multiply fares up to eightfold, to 20-25 bolivianos (USD 2.9-3.6).

Known limits of this passport
  • Publisher names and source languages have not yet been classified; domains are recorded without guessing.
  • Existing source notes are descriptive locators, not page- or paragraph-exact citations.
  • A missing archive, publication date or content hash is shown as null rather than inferred.
  • The project-level evidence grade ranks the strongest source in the entry; it is not a truth score for every claim.
